Here’s How it Works:
During our free introductory online courses, your child will learn the basics of GCSE or AS/A2 Music from our expert tutor, Declan Plummer (see testimonials above)! This is a great way to let your child get a head start in their music studies before the academic year begins, without needing to commit to on-going lessons right away. Our courses follow the CCEA curriculum, but we can still offer support for other boards.
We’ve been lucky to have received enough funding to offer 4 days of free online music tuition, from 19th to 22nd August. We would love to offer your child the opportunity to join us! The courses are educational and highly interactive! They last for 2×1-hour sessions per day. The exact class times are subject to the level of student interest.

Our devotion to our students’ success in both music and in life leads to fantastic results: 50% of our A-Level students and 75% of our GCSE students have attained GRADES A or A* in their music qualifications. What Equipment Does A Student Need For Our
Introduction to GCSE & AS/A2 Music?
In order to successfully benefit from online learning, we at Top Score Music Academy recommend that students use a laptop/desktop and that they have Zoom installed on their computers. As a result, tablets and phone are far too limited and cumbersome for proper online learning.
In addition, students should have a working microphone and webcam. Although students do not need to buy expensive microphones and webcams, bad experiences of online learning have been the result of relying on an old computer’s in-built microphone and webcam. Consequently, this often leads to poor visual and/or audio for the students. It is therefore up to the student/parent to ensure that their webcam and microphone is of sufficient quality for good online learning. Similarly, we also recommend that students use headphones at all times during their lessons to get the best sound quality.
Above all, good internet access is essential! If the signal is poor, then it’s highly recommend not to use wireless, and instead connect the computer to the home router using a standard ethernet cable. This way, the signal becomes far stronger, uninterrupted, and not weakened by walls, ceilings, floors or distance from the router (obstacles often overlooked by students when doing online lessons). Declan can provide further advice to parents about any tech issues!
